At Applied Robotics, my primary responsibilities as an electrical engineer involved procurement and supply chain management. My day-to-day tasks included:
Assessing project requirements and generating bill of materials (BOM) for electrical components
Identifying and liaising with vendors, negotiating pricing and lead times
Placing and tracking purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of components
Collaborating with the design and production teams to optimize component selection
Monitoring inventory levels and implementing reorder strategies to maintain stock
Managing cash flow by tracking expenses, optimizing purchasing, and minimizing lead times
Coordinating with logistics partners for shipping and import/export compliance
Evaluating supplier performance, quality, and reliability, as well as identifying opportunities for cost savings
Developing and maintaining procurement documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and invoices
Participating in cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and streamline procurement processes
