Hi, my name is Nhi. I am a final-year Bachelor of Computer Science student at RMIT. I apply for the Australia Post Accelerator Internship Program because I have a passion for innovation and eagerness to learn and build with people that have the same drive. I have great respect for Australia Post and its excellency in delivering such core services to the Australian economy. Most of all, I believe I have the skills, experience, and commitment required to thrive in a multi-disciplinary team and deliver solid results together for Australia Post. 

During the last six COSBOA Innovation Games working as a Paddl Alumni, I demonstrated my ability to use design thinking to solve problems under pressure. I also enhanced my teamwork and communication skills while collaborating with a diverse group of members, including multiple business owners, fellow students from various disciplines, and host organisations such as Australia Post, Energy Australia, and Bunnings.

I want to highlight my previous work experience in a similar innovation program called Metro Trains Skunk Works. In this internship working for Metro Trains Melbourne, I performed customer interviews and developed an UI prototype for the project idea. I was also in an innovation program for a Melbourne-based superannuation start-up called Roll-it Super. In this project, I gathered data from surveys and devised communication strategies for Roll-it Super to better educate first-time workforce entrants about tax, super, and other vital financial concepts.

Besides my work experience, I frequently take part in hackathons to advance my problem-solving, creative-thinking, and capability to create a digital product from scratch quickly. Last month, my team and I achieved the first place in the Vonex Hackathon with Up-Cycle, a cross-platform mobile application that empowers users to give away, swap, or sell unwanted goods as opposed to having them end up in landfills. Our business case was to fill in the gap that other marketplaces such as Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace failed to address, at the same time offer a solution for both recyclable and non-recyclable wastes.
