Content Design Lead

I led a team of six communication, media and creative professionals in Victoria University’s Student Services, as part of the Student Communications and Engagement portfolio.

My role involved ideation, planning, strategy creation, delegation and overseeing the execution to ensure that our prospective and current students are always informed about rights, obligations and available opportunities at VU. This means designing and implementing multi-channel (web, print, various internal digital channels, social media etc) strategic plans for business as usual (BAU), campaign and project work, and key specific student journey periods – for example converting student inquiries (leads) into current students up to and beyond academic census.

As Content Manager at Sendle I work with stakeholders across the business (marketing, sales, partnerships, support) to create content solutions that showcase Sendle’s offering as a sustainable small business shipper. Core to my role is creatively responding to OKRs to create content for the whole funnel, ensuring that we’re hitting the right notes re product, our brand pillars and ultimately increasing leads and parcel volumes.

One of the biggest barriers to innovation is a fixed mindset. This mindset can exist in the innovator or in the system where the innovation needs to play out. In this session we go beyond an established technique like Brainstorming to consider four other approaches to unlock the field of play, and the players so that players contribute, ideas flow and results in creative collaboration.

Improving Ideation and Iteration

As the lead creative in-house I planned, developed, curated and managed content (written, visual, rich media) for our university partners and for internal Keypath corporate work. This involved ideation, managing suppliers, holding workshops, conducting in-depth course development research for current and future partners and writing (but mostly high-level editing) of content delivered by suppliers.

I also researched our target markets for each new partner and course, created detailed personas informed by data, developed messaging matrices, planned and executed content (SEO website content, brochures, Google Adwords, Google Display Network/Facebook ads, Blog content and Facebook posts).
