As a graduate electrical engineer at UGL, I was actively involved in the construction of a solar farm in Mount Isa. My responsibilities included procurement, quality control, and documentation development. My day-to-day tasks encompassed:
Coordinating procurement activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment Conducting quality checks on electrical components, solar panels, cables, and related infrastructure Developing quality documentation, such as Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Work-Packs, to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards Collaborating with the project team, including engineers, blue collar, and contractors, to maintain high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle Utilizing Microsoft Excel to track, analyze, and report progress metrics, identifying areas for improvement and potential risks Addressing any non-conformance issues and working with suppliers to implement corrective actions Ensuring that safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements are met throughout the project Participating in project meetings and providing regular progress updates to stakeholders
