Who am I? | I have qualifications in mechanical engineering and product design, while also having worked in the higher education sector, for over 6 years, as a healthcare simulation technician at Australia’s first accredited healthcare simulation facility, Adelaide Health Simulation.

I'm a culturally aware person, who has been fortunate enough to have experienced various ways of life. I've been a part of, and explored, industrial design practices, in both Germany and China, as well as graphic design processes at IED Firenze, Italy.

I seek challenge, both personally and professionally. I believe that the only way you can grow is if you operate outside of your comfort zone.

What do I do? | I problem solve by creating. I do this by conducting quantitative and qualitative research into the matters I'm investigating, so an understanding of what the fundamental tasks, at hand, can be provided. This allows analytics to be derived, so optimal outcomes can be delivered. I pride myself on the execution and completion of my objectives.

How? | I support my design methodology with a human centered design approach. This allows me to focus on a target market, otherwise referred to as a 'user', and understand their core needs and desires. Being detail orientated allows me to focus on what it is the user is really after. I strongly believe that design is an empathetic and iterative process, which always needs a balance of functionality and aesthetics, without complicating the user journey along the way. I find collaboration and inclusiveness as pivotal tools, to find innovative solutions to the problems/challenges/projects I have been presented with.

Why? | It is my belief that good design is intended for people and their experiences. I want to improve these experiences in a way which could add further meaning and value to their lives. I'm a firm believer that design drives culture and that culture is defined by its people. Design is culture. Culture is people.

Working in a fast-paced environment with continual growth, my role is to ensure that all related technology is working to optimal standards. Liaison and coordination with University academic and professional staff, biomedical engineering specialists, external health professionals, vendors, simulated patients and the information technologists are all critical to ensure the best possible outcomes.
