About Riley
Hi! I'm Riley, and I'm a 2nd year Bachelor of Arts student at the University of Melbourne.
When I left high school, I started studying a Bachelor of Architecture, but soon found my true passion lied with History! So, I switched degrees at mid-year and haven't looked back.
My BA has helped me develop a range of analytical skills that have equipped me with the tools to succeed in diverse environments. This is something I've built on in my volunteer work for Oxfam, where I've been assisting with social impact research, to better understand the effects of Oxfam's projects on people across the globe.
Volunteering for Oxfam has also brought me into contact with diverse groups of people. This has taught me how to engage with people from a range of backgrounds and beliefs, as well as some of society's most vulnerable. I think this helps me adapt easily to new environments.
Outside of my volunteering, I've further developed my customer service skills working at Myer during the past 4 Christmas periods. As it's an extremely busy time of year in retail, I've learned to think on my feet and stay calm in high pressure environments, helping prepare me for my future work.
