I am a second-year student of Master of International Business program at the University of Melbourne. With a strong academic background, I won the full-ride scholarships for both undergraduate program in the United States and master degree in Australia. With my strong commitment and active engagement related to community development, I was selected by Vietnam National Committee on Youth to represent my country, in different conferences for young leaders in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and India. In 2016, I was honored to meet the former President of the United States Barack Obama as an outstanding member of his program - the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (also known as YSEALI). Coming to the University of Melbourne, I was among 80 students in the world invited to attend Asia-Pacific Week 2017 in Canberra. This conference brought the brightest student and academic delegates from universities around the world to engage in discussion on the future of the Asia-Pacific region. This year, I will represent for Australia Awards Scholarship awardees to attend 2018 Global Summit of Women in Sydney (26-28/4/2018). This business summit with the theme of “Women Creating Economies of Shared Value” focuses on women’s advancement in the global economy.
Prior undertaking the master program, I had two and a half years’ experience in the International Cooperation division of the Foreign Affairs Department in Vietnam. Working in the team, I monitored the management and implementation of international nongovernmental organizations’ projects as well as coordinated with relevant agencies to enhance the effectiveness of allotted resources. My work experience refined my ability to work with peers and learned how to communicate with other efficiently. I was named “Excellence in External Affairs” for outstanding performance.
I am currently doing three casual works at the university. I am the mentor for Australia Awards Scholarship to assist newly arrived scholars with pre-arrival and on-arrival issues. Second, I am a Student Peer Leader for The Student Mathematics And Statistics Help (SMASH) project to help students of the University with mathematics, statistics and quantitative skills required for their studies. Third, I am the counter attendant in University cafeteria with extremely strong customer service skills. Furthermore, I had one month internship as an E-commerce assistant for InteractChina. I have gained a thorough understanding of various online marketing strategy, trend analysis, project management, and social media engagement.
I am a member of Career Mentor program at Faculty of Business and Economics, Melbourne Business School Student Association (MBSSA) and Golden Key International Honor Society. I also volunteered for Student Union Advocacy Service with Exam Support Stall program where I provided information and supported fellow students during the exam period.
