About Valentina
I am a professional with a diverse career path, in the past ten years I had the opportunity to work in areas such as non-governmental organizations, consultancy offices, international trade companies, hospitality venues and tourism agencies. My multidisciplinary experience allowed me to enhance several different skills, such as problem-solving, critical/creative thinking, communication, organisation and leadership. Furthermore, I was faced with situations along my career that put to test not only my abilities as a team player, but also to work independently and unsupervised driven by achieving the best results. I excel at work due to a positive attitude, strong work ethic, my readiness to learn new things and a can-do approach.
Since May 2019, I have been working for the Zero Waste Youth International Movement, an NGO that delivers events and workshops worldwide to raise environmental awareness, enhance network in the area, connect different movements and empower our generation through information for practical actions towards a more sustainable system. From March till July, I have developed and delivered an online course to the youth in Mozambique to introduce them to sustainable technologies such as: renewable energy, zero waste management, agroforestry, among others. Throughout my career as a Consultant I have developed over 15 R&D projects along with companies in a large array of areas, such as lean manufacturing, logistics, sustainability. As a Head of Projects, I trained and led a team of consultants, set KPI’s and goals, supervised and ensured we would deliver our projects on time and in accordance with client’s expectations. While working as an International Trade Assistant, I was responsible to contact suppliers, arrange logistics, track ETA’s and provide all the documents for the customs process. For the past four years I have been travelling the world seeking personal development and working in tourism and hospitality, that experience taught me empathy and introduced me to many different cultural backgrounds, increasing my communication skills and customer service.
In March 2019 I decided to focus on my passion and redirection my career towards my personal goals. With that in mind I started the Certificate IV in Environmental Management and Sustainability, to increase my knowledge in the area and gain skills and qualification to pursue a career in the Environmental Area, in line with my objective of protecting our planet. The course has given me knowledge regarding tools and techniques to develop Environmental Management Systems (EMS), including Energy and Resources Efficiency Plan, Waste Management Plan, WHS Plan, Carbon Emission mitigation among other skills.
