I am a passionate web developer & Ex-recruiter. I have always been fascinated by the tech world. I love coding because there is nothing more satisfying than solving problems and seeing our ideas come to life. I’m looking forward to combining my love of working with both people and technology.
Bit more about myself, how I have started my journey into tech.
I used to be a recruiter and relocated to Melbourne. During this downtime to learn new technologies which I have used in my previous company when I was a recruiter, I have used Job portal to source candidates from SEEK, Indeed and many more. I was so curious how does the website make of and how does it work behind the screen. So, I decided to get my hands dirty and signed up for the online course in codecademy, I was dabbling around with HTML, CSS and a bit of JavaScript. But I haven't understood how does it will work in the real world. then I decided to go for many tech meetups and network with the people and they informed me about GA and it will be a good place to start my career in tech. I made a serious decision and join GA to take Web development immersive course and work with people.
I always enjoyed problem-solving, but programming gave it an extra incentive by seeing those ideas come to life in a browser. I learned new technologies, new languages and new frameworks. so finally I built myself a recruitment website called Recruit Me.
As much as I wanted to build a recruiting website when I started the journey, the thing that I'm most excited to work on is GERTY. GERTY is a virtual assistant that can answer your questions using Natural Language Processing and integrating with different sources of information via API. Some of them are GIPHY, news, weather, etc. The first version of the app needed queries in a particular format, else it will crash. Then, I came across LUIS(Language Understanding) service from Microsoft that allows you to quickly build bots through recognition of user intent. I then used it to train with some key phrases that I use to add a human touch.
